Lithium Ion Batteries

Lithium ion battery, also known as li-ion battery, is a new type of rechargeable battery composed of single or multiple cells in which lithium ions move from the anode through an electrolyte to the cathode during discharge and back when charging. They have the advantages of high energy density, low self-discharge rate, well holding of a charge, no memory effect, and environmental friendliness. Usually, lithium ion batteries are significantly lighter than other kinds of rechargeable batteries of similar size. They power the devices we use every day, from mobile phones and wearables to hybrids and electric cars.
